News from

Leeds Festival CATs

20 Aug 05

Please note the Festival Volunteers (CATs & HATs) moved to the Hotbox Events website in early 2009.

The CAT Packs (CAT briefing packs) are on the way, in the meantime please find a little info below:

You will be expected to arrive at the festival site on Wednesday, 24 August 2005 between 11:00 - 18:00. Please ensure that you have made the necessary arrangements to be at the festival site from Wednesday, 24 August until Monday, 29 August.

If you are arriving for the early shift (Wednesday evening (17:00 > 23:00), the briefing for these CATs is planned for 2pm) you may access the site via Blue Gate (Details below & enclosed within briefing pack) and park in the staff car parks. If you are not - please use the A64 Red Gates and park in the Public car parks as we do not have enough room for all of the festival's volunteers within the staff car park.

DIRECTIONS TO BLUE GATE (Staff access), LEEDS FESTIVAL 2005: FROM THE A1 TRAVELLING NORTH EXIT ON THE SLIP ROAD TO BRAMHAM PARK (EXIT ON NEXT SLIP ROAD SINGPOSTED BRAMHAM AND THORNER AFTER JUNCTION WITH A64) AT THE TOP OF THE SLIP ROAD AT THE JUNCTION WITH THORNER ROAD TURN LEFT, FOLLOW THE THORNER ROAD FOR AROUND 2KM AND THEN TURN LEFT INTO BLUE GATE (BY BUS STOP). PLEASE LEAVE IN THE SAME DIRECTION, THERE IS NO ACCESS TO OR FROM THE FESTIVAL SITE VIA THORNER VILLAGE.

After arriving at the site you will need to contact us - our phone numbers are within the briefing pack, or ask the nearest member of staff with a radio to contact us for you, we will then meet you and check you in and show you where to camp. The next stage will be attending a briefing meeting, this will provide important information about the roles and responsibilities of being a CAT. The briefing meeting is planned to commence at 21:00 (There is an earlier briefing planned for the early shift at 14:00) - although due to the nature of festivals the times may change at short notice.

Further details about the CATs are be provided within the briefing pack, this you should have received in the post by Monday 22nd August, if you don't receive a briefing pack you will receive one on checking in - please do ask! In the meantime, if there are any questions please contact us, or post them via the CAT forum.

We look forward to working with you at Leeds Festival 2005

Mark Hatchard (Leeds CAT & Campsite Manager) & Tavis Russell (Leeds CAT Supervisor)
